Independence Day celebrations are always so much fun, yet my favorite part is that it’s a great reason to get together with friends and family!
Whether you’re going to a party or celebrating at home, in most cases any 4th of July Party dress code is comfortable and casual! But casual doesn’t yet have to be unflattering or slouchy! Right?Because I believe that you can have the best of the two worlds (i.e. be comfortable AND rock it!), I thought that it’d be fun to make this list of my favorite pretty and casual Independence Day Outfits!
Option #1: A Dress
A dress is as always my all-time favorite option! My best tips for picking a pretty and casual dress is to go for ones made with breathable fabric like cotton or silk. When it comes to the dress style, pick the ones that hug your body, while still giving you room to breath! My favorites are:
- Shirt dresses (also because most of them are stripy which makes them so “American”!)
- Sundresses – simple, summery – they’re the classic!
- Wrap dresses – the currently trending 70-s style looks casual, feminine and chic at the same time!
- Boho Dresses – these are very “LA”: breezy, casual yet sophisticated! After having lived in LA for almost 15 years now, I’ve developed special feels for everything boho!
Option #2: Denim Shorts and Pretty Top
What can be more American than a pair of denim shorts (or jeans)? If the Independence Day party you’re headed to is casual enough to wear denim, I say – totally go for it! To dress your denim up and make your outfit extra-feminine I’d recommend pairing it with a feminine top!
Oh, and I’ve also been loving the pearl-studded denim lately! 🙂
Option #3: A Comfy Skirt and an All-American Top
Sweeping maxis, full midis, or currently trending wrap skirts are all great choices: without restricting your motions they look so feminine! Pair them with a cool top (for the 4th I love graphic tops with the patriotic symbolics!) and you got a pretty, yet cool 4th of July look!
Finally, my favorite shoe choices this summer are mules, wedges and espadrilles! Easy and comfy to wear, they also do a great job in elongating your legs!
So… what are you going got wear to this 4th of July celebrations? This year I think that I’ll totally go for a loose-fitting boho dress! What about you? 🙂
