Hi, friends!
We all know that a healthy glowing skin is a foundation to our beauty. Right? 🙂 But each season brings its own skincare challenges! Although I find Summer to be perhaps the most challenging season of all when it comes to skincare, Fall still has its own, specific challenges that I wanted discuss with you today!

So, what are the Fall-Skincare challenges?
- No matter how careful we’ve been out in the sun during the summer, unless we’ve stayed indoors all season long we got a teeny-bit of a tan. Right? I know that despite me using my SPF 50 Sunscreen and staying in the shade, my skin now looks much tanner now that it does in the winter. And this suntan means… well, sun-damage. But I’ve read enough articles to know that it’s completely reversible! The best way to reverse it is by exfoliating your skin to help it “shed” those damaged skin-cells! To exfoliate my skin gently I love using my Lancome Cleanser and my favorite Konjac Sponge!
- Now that we don’t perspire as much as in the summer our skin gets drier. My skin may turn extremely dry! This is why I make sure to use my favorite super-rich Cold Cream from Avene along with my latest favorite – the Clarins Serum that also contains oil! After I cleanse my face and rinse it with the cool water, I don’t wipe the water off. Instead I apply the oily serum followed by the Cold Cream. The oil in the serum and the rich cream keep all this moisture underneath!
- This one is often overlooked, but I thought that I’d bring it up because I think that it’s a huge challenge! The Fall (and Winter) Holidays! Yes, the sweet Holiday get-togethers that often times prompt us to slightly (or not so slightly) overindulge… And while all the pumpkeny-sweet potato and turkey goodness is actually beneficial for our skin… Things like booze and too much dessert – are not… But here’s the good news! I believe that if you approach these sweet Holidays with a little bit of a strategy, – something that’ll help you be a bit more mindful while you’re enjoying yourself, you will be perfectly OK! And here’s my Healthy Holidays Strategy that’s been working well for me!
- And one more challenge that I think is bit overlooked, too (and it shouldn’t!) Although the fall’s sun is milder than the summer’s sun, it is still… Sun! And that means – let’s not forget to protect ourselves from it by applying our sunscreen (or an SPF foundation!) and… wearing a stylish hat!
Actually, I’ll tell you a secret: I HATE wearing hats in the summer: when it’s already so hot outside – wearing another item of clothing on my head is just… too much! But now that it’s cooled down I love wearing my hats! Not only it gives me an extra sun-protection… It also keeps my hair from flying all over my face. And finally – it’s such a stylish accessory! Here’re my favorite hat styles this Fall:
So, what is your biggest Fall Skincare Challenge? Do you have any tips on how to deal with it? 🙂 I’d love to hear all about it in the comments below! 🙂
I think sometimes people overlook drinking lots of water, even when it’s not warm outside. Staying hydrated makes such a difference in my skin!
Oh, this is so true, Debra! What an excellent advice! Thank you! 🙂
