The Healthy Fat-Free & Sugar-Free Hazelnut Spread (aka Nutella) is all-natural, low-calorie and very easy to make (3 ingredients only)! It’s also super-yummy, creamy, paleo, gluten-free and vegan!Hi, friend!
Can a hazelnut spread (aka Nutella) be both fat-free and sugar-free?
…And the answer is… Oh, Yeah! 🙂
…But only the “chosen ones” (i.e. you, my readers! 🙂 ) shall discover the BIG secret behind the Healthy Fat-Free & Sugar-Free Hazelnut Spread that’s also all-natural, clean, paleo, vegan and low-calorie! Yes, we aren’t going to give our secrets away!
…Or maybe… OK, OK! We’ll be the “sweet ones” and won’t keep all the good things just to ourselves! Right? 🙂OK. So now that I hopefully made you smile 🙂 (which is the healthiest thing that we can actually do for ourselves!), lets get straight to the big-big secret behind the wonderful fat-free and sugar-free “Nutella” spread!
So, what makes all these wonderful things happen?
Here’s the breakdown: (let’s see if you’ll have that “a-ha!” moment, since it’s really super-simple!)
- What makes it fat-free? Well, because we’re living in the XXI Century where people had developed all sorts of wonders including the all-natural, fat-free powdered nut butters (aka PB-8, and I am officially addicted!). At first it was just the powdered peanut butter that was available, but now we can also get the almond and the hazelnut varieties! And it’s precisely what I used. This powdered hazelnut butter is 95% fat-free (which makes this “Nutella about 99% fat-free because the hazelnut butter is just one of the ingredients. I thought it was OK to round it up to call it fat-free).
- What makes it sugar-free? Well, you could’ve guessed that! Can you guess? OK, I’ll tell you! It’s the dates! Yes, the mighty dates that I’ve been loving ever since I made my Healthy Caramel! Not only the dates are super-sweet. They also create all the bulk in this recipe (instead of the regular nut butters that are used in the regular “Nutella”-like spreads along with the other not-so-healthy ingredients such as syrups, oils, and additives…)
So what do you think? Are you going to keep this recipe secret? 🙂
P.S. Please, share it, my friend! Because… it’s a very sweet, and … healthy, and… beautiful thing to do! 🙂
P.P.S. Are you smiling again! I hope so! :

This Healthy Fat-Free Hazelnut Spread is all-natural, sugar-free, low-calorie, super-easy to make (3 ingredients only!), and also paleo, gluten-free and vegan!
Ingredients
- 6 oz pitted dates or 20 dates
- 3 tbsp powdered hazelnut butter

Instructions
Soak the dates in the hot water for at least 1 hour or overnight. When the dates have been soaked their rough skins slide right off them. Peel the dates and put them in a blender or a processor along with 2 tbsp of soaking liquid. (if you want a thinner spread, add another tbsp of soaking liquid. For a super-thick spread only add 1 tbsp of liquid).
Add the powdered hazelnut butter and the cocoa powder to the blender and blend until the mixture is very smooth. And... this is it!
Yes I am – I’m smiling ear to ear! 10 minutes to make? Just amazing, it looks so creamy and decadent!
