Pumpkins all around remind us that it is in fact Fall :)! But… does it mean that we should give up wearing white until the Memorial Day Weekend? Wearing white benefits everyone’s appearance as it brightens up our skin and makes us look literally radiant! So how can we go about wearing out pretty whites and still look season appropriate?
#1. The cut.
I think that the reason why white is so associated with the summer is because a classic sun-dress is usually white. But your fall-white dress, top or skirt doesn’t have to be cut for the summer! A dress without any cutouts and with sleeves instead of the straps will make you look weather-appropriate!
I love this white lace dress you see me wearing here because it’s beautiful and versatile! And what else really matters when it comes to dressing season-appropriate? I think that it’s dressing for the weather, right?
#2. The accessories
With the warm weather giving in to the cool fall winds wearing summer slaps and sandals isn’t wise no matter what you pair them with! The Fall-appropriate shoes (such as boots, booties or even moccasins), scarves and jackets are what we need to be well-dressed for the weather! With these Fall-appropriate accessories you’ll look Fall-appropriate no matter what color your dress might be!
#3. The layers
Finally wearing a dress all on it’s own won’t be enough when the temperatures drop! Layering this dress with sweaters, warm jackets and vests won’t only will keep you warm, it’ll also give you an opportunity to play around with your wardrobe’s colors as you can pair the whites and deep-dark colors to create contrast or add a few orangy-yellow tones to match the colors of the beautiful Fall pumpkin!
…Allright! So now that we’ve covered looking as pretty as can be, how shall we treat ourselves these days? Since treating ourselves is so very important (because a pretty dress can never counteract a gloomy face!), let’s see about a few mouth-watering, yet guiltless ways to treat ourselves! 🙂
4 Low-Calorie Fall Treat Ideas:
The PSL is everywhere! (I’ve recently learned that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is so huge that people call it PSL for short – I guess it’s sort of like an LBD – it’s the status thing 🙂 But aside from its deceptive scent and sweet taste it also features oh so many calories! So…
My best tip is to make it less-guilty yet still as enjoyable by switching to the lower-fat milk and asking for a few less pumps of the sugary syrup!
Can’t enjoy it without all the syrup in it? Then go for the smaller size! 🙂
Pumpkins! I can say that I honestly don’t understand anyone who isn’t a bit crazy about everything pumpkins! With that said I’m so looking forward to baking this low-calorie Chocolate Pumpkin Pie or these guiltless Pumpkin Brownies because the best low-calorie treat is always the one that you make yourself!
The Fall Fruit! There’s a reason why we give Thanks in the Fall! Fall is the time of the harvest and the best time to enjoy sweet fruit like grapes, plums and apples! Oh, and to bake with them too! For instance I can’t wait to make this Low-Calorie Apple Cake, this Chocolate Apple Loaf or these Chocolate Plum Muffins asap! 🙂
Finally I say – ANY full-calorie treat is OK if eaten in lesser quantity! So when you don’t have the time to bake, but do have a few minutes to yourself – wear that pretty (white?) outfit and go treat yourself for the full-flavored Fall-favorite like slice of a pumpkin pie, an apple-caremel bar… or… whatever your soul desires! Just don’t eat the whole 10 oz serving of it, OK? Instead – save some and enjoy once again later!
So tell me: are you ready to enjoy the Fall? 🙂
