#1. The Pies
Because how can I Thanksgiving be without a pie? 🙂
Yet, if a pie without a crust isn’t your way of approaching a pie (and well – some pies (like an Apple or a Cherry Pie) can’t really go without a crust!) here’s the traditional Healthy Pumpkin Pie Recipe for you to check out!
Oh, and I’m letting you in on my one little secret: I am actually going to make another crust-yes pie in the next few days (it will be a variation of this Healthy Pumpkin Pie!
And promise to share a recipe for it with you as soon as it’s hot and out of the oven! 🙂
#2. The Cakes
Because sometimes you want something… more decadent than a pie (or if you know that there’ll already be about 10 people bringing pies to your potluck!)
I’m seriously considering making this Healthy Sweet Potato Cake to bring to the potluck I’m going to go to! I just need to ask around to see if my cake could add a welcome variety to all those pies!
#3. The Cookies
I say – if you don’t have the time/ the head/ a right oven – baking cookies is always a great option! Not only they are less-fuss and faster to make than a pie – you can also make them days in advance, freeze them and thaw them out right before the event!
I actually baked and put in the freezer a batch of these Healthy Cookies you see me salivating in these pictures! So… just as you see there are plenty of options when it comes to the Thanksgiving Desserts baking! And the best news is – all these desserts are healthy, lower in calories and delicious!
Oh, my best piece of advice is: DO bring something to the Thanksgiving potluck! Even if they’re telling you that they’re all covered!
Not only an extra dish is ALWAYS a welcome addition to any buffet! …It’s also a great way of ensuring that YOU will have something healthy and rather guiltless to indulge on just in case that at that party all they’ll have will be fries and donuts! (And believe me – it happened to me multiple times, especially at my kids’ parties!) 🙂
